Preston North End 2007-2008 Discussion
How many time have we read on these pages about the very poor refereeing when North End have lost to a better team ? Oh so often. So how come you fair minded North End supporters didn't bother to mention that Leicester City had not one, not two, but three 'goals' disallowed ?
Yes three times the ball was in the back of the Preston net, and not a murmur about it from the Faithful ??? [Sad][Sad]

1st one Offside.
2nd one Offside.
3rd one Handball
All three cut and dried decisions. Therefore, you as a referee should know better than anyone, that NO goals were scored by Leicester City. It follows that there were no `goals` to discuss.
Don`t get too excited David, I`m not about to enter into a discussion with you. I just wanted to make sure that you were aware of the rules of the game, so that the players that you officiate over don`t get a raw deal. Mind you - you`d probably have allowed all three.

What does it feel like when you hear chants of, `You don`t know what you`r doing`, coming from the touch-line?

Jim, Its Barnsley versus Chelsea on Saturday, and according to the local paper, Chelsea management are providing free train and coach travel to Barnsley for all legitimate ticket holders. This should be something to see.

The vendors are out in force with scarves and flags, fancy hats, etc. You get a scarf which has Chelsea and Barnsley colours on it saying that Barnsley were the giant killers. The chickens have certainly been counted before the eggs are even in the incubator.

We can but hope - miracles do happen - but in Barnsley????

William, It will be a great day, whatever the result. No wonder the rest of the world acknowledge this as THE best knock-out competition, bar none. Good luck on the day, I`ve got my fingers crossed for you.

William, I notice that the match is being televised live on Saturday. No doubt you will be glued to your set at 5.30PM!!!
A miracle in Barnsley? you ask. Well Man U. in 1998, Liverpool in 2008 - why not make it a hat-trick? Good luck.

Good luck at The Valley, at least a tie will do.
Sam will be there at least in spirit, God Bless Sam Bartram, a player made from the same mold as Sir Tom.

Another win for Preston and another game closer to next seasons Championship capaign. The match was played about a mile from where I am right now but I wouldn't have been forgiven had I gone to the game as it's Hayleys birthday today...

Another good away win, but wouldn't you know it, the teams around them did well too. What a great ending to the season the relegation fight is going to be.
