The football season kicks off on Saturday 11th August 2007.
In the Coca-Cola Championship Preston North End take on Norwich City.

I hope this season finishes better than the last one did!

An interesting little count down clock here.

Nicholls, now Carter - the squad is getting stronger by the minute.

It was a good game to watch yesterday, a bit odd with the whole of one side missing and the ball often giving the ball boys a 30 to 40 yard chase when it went over the fence.
For North End, positives were Nicholls who looks the mid field general PNE have missed for so long, Carter who looks total class when he gets the ball, Mawene, back to his best after such a long lay-off, Henderson who is totally composed in goal and Mellor who finally starts a game I'm at and wins MOTM award. Negatives, the wingers struggled to get crosses in and there were very few attempts at goal, but a game played with total commitment and passion. One interesting view before the game was a man who must have been 40 stone at least, struggling to get to his seat on the 28th row of seating. I said interesting, it was painful to watch and I feared for his health, and that of the flimsy seat he was on also.

Cause for cautious optimism then, Noel?

At least they won't be tired out at the end of this season now that the cup run has come to an end.

Apparently hundreds were turned away last night because not enough tickets had been printed.
You couldn't write it could you, what a shambles. But at least they do it their way.

Why oh! why do I always think a new season is going to be better than the last? After listening to the West Brom commentary, I was of the opinion that the Baggies could have played without a goalkeeper.
