Fenway Park, seating 34,000, home to the Boston Red Sox.

But they are in deep trouble in their effort to get into this years World Series.
They are trailing the New York Yankee's three games to none after being hammered at home in Fenway 19-8 last night. New York need only one more win to get into the Series.
The other two team are St Louis Cardinals v Houston Astro's with St Louis ahead 2 games to 1.

Baseball history was made yesterday when the Boston Red Sox beat the Yankees to even the games at 3-3 and to force a seventh game. No team has ever come back after trailing 0-3. The seventh and last play-off game will now go back to Yankee Stadium.

NEW YORK - Boston blew away decades of defeat with four sweet swings.
Believe it, New England, the Red Sox are in the World Series. And they got there with the most unbelievable comeback of all, shaming the New York Yankees, the Evil Empire to the south.
Just three outs from getting swept out of the American League Championship Series three nights earlier, the Red Sox finally humbled the dreaded Yankees, winning Game 7 in a 10-3 shocker Wednesday night to become the first major-league team to overcome a 3-0 postseason series deficit.

And in St Louis the Cardinals beat the Houston Astros 6-4 to force a seventh game.

Put your Cardinal shirt on Noel, the Cards came from behind last night to win 5-2 in the seventh game. The World series, (best of seven games), starts tomorrow v Boston Red Sox.

ST. LOUIS -- The rollicking sea of red certainly helped.
What really chased Houston and its Rocket were the booming bats of MVP Albert Pujols and Scott Rolen.
Pujols hit a tying double, Rolen followed with a home run and the St. Louis Cardinals suddenly erupted against Clemens, startling the Astros 5-2 Thursday night to take Game 7 of the National League Championship Series.
In the only best-of-seven LCS matchup in which the home team won each time, the Cardinals broke through with two outs in the sixth inning. Surrounded by a swell of red-clad fans, St. Louis took the lead in a span of only two pitches.
Jeff Suppan (Crespi High of Encino) overcame a leadoff home run by Craig Biggio to win an apparent mismatch against Clemens, helped by a stunning catch from center fielder Jim Edmonds. The bullpen combined for three scoreless innings, shutting down Carlos Beltran and Co., with Jason Isringhausen working the ninth for his third save.
After posting 105 wins and running away with the NL Central, the Cardinals advanced to their first World Series under manager Tony La Russa and first overall since 1987.
Next up, the Boston Red Sox in Game 1 on Saturday night at Fenway Park. By all accounts it should be a classic , they also met in the 1967 and 1946 Series, and St. Louis won both, each time going the full seven games

I think that it developed from Rounders.
I don't know about the 'more grown up' bit. Like all overpaid prats, they dance around kissing and hugging.

Just to finish this off....the miracle of miracles happened. What with the Red Sox coming back from trailing 0-3 and beating the Yankees, remember no team had ever come back from 0-3 to get into the World Series. They then swept the Cardinals 4-0 to win the series ...all this while my PC was out of order. So Noel, you can put your Cardinal shirt away until next October [Big Grin]
And you may as well delete this thread too [:o)]
