A Lancashire man, David Ryding, performed in the Olympic Slalom event yesterday. He first posted in third place, but later competitors pushed him down to 12th.

David is the grandson of my wife Eileen's cousin Gary Ryding.

Correction - David finished 9th.

he's been getting some good comments on BBC tv coverage Frank. It's been a very high standard this time on all the events. So many incredible performances.
