I won a $5 bet with my Sunderland friend who goes in the same pub as me, and I gave hime the draw !!

- David - 18-Oct-2006

Noel; Are you going to the Leeds match, the 31st ? With the old South Pavillion stand now closed, I will be in the Tom Finney stand somewhere. If you're in the bar at half time, I'll buy you a pint. Ask a steward for Brian Burke, he works in the TF stand, I'll be with him. Hope to see ya there with another good North End win.

- noel - 18-Oct-2006

I should be on the Finney, Dave but I'll probably be driving to the match so sadly alcohol will be a no-go. I'll try and look you up.
We could trade insults.[Big Grin]
Cracking result last night though, but Nugent booked again for dissent so will he miss Burnley and Leeds or will it be Hull and Burnley. It gets complicated.

- David - 18-Oct-2006

A coke then Noel ?
Makes you wonder what goes on in Nugent's head. He gets booked just about every game he plays.

- noel - 18-Oct-2006

Coke sounds fine David, I hope we can meet up. Nugent wants a bit of a slapping in my opinion. Maybe if he lost his week's pay every time he got suspended it might teach him a lesson. there again, what's 3 or 4 grand to these lads?

- David - 22-Oct-2006

Cancel the rest of the season and we're/they're up at last. To hell with Nugent, Dichio seems to be doing the job. See you Tuesday. Leeds lost again. Briliant.
But have they become our bogey team ??

- noel - 23-Oct-2006

A change from a few years' back David, whehn every team was our bogey team. Accordingto the stats we were under the cosh. At half time it was something like 4 shots on goal to 10 shots for Hull. The only stat that matters is 2-1 at the final whistle but it would be nice to have won in style. On another point, Dermot Gallagher, conned again by Andy Johnson who dived in the penalty area to get Claude Davis ex PNE a red card. Cheats still win.

- William R - 28-Oct-2006

Hi Noel, Barnsley lost again!!! Now third from bottom in the league.
My next door neighbour was a regular fan but will not go near now because of the prices, its the same story all over S.Yorks.

My granddaughters`s husband was a regular for Sheff.Weds. but never goes near now, says the cost is too high and he can make good use of the money, and he lives about 200yds from Hillsborough ground.

High wages and greed seems to be killing the sport off round here. Sad but true.

- noel - 29-Oct-2006

Hi William, yes I must agree wages and prices are killing the game as a spectator sport.
I've not been on a single game this season, and as a result have maintained my sanity and a healthy bank balance.

- Spitfire - 29-Oct-2006

Now there`s a supprise. I don`t know why, but I assumed that you were a season ticket holder Noel.
